Carpe Vitam
Welcome to Carpe Vitam. Our workshops and resources enlighten others about the power and potential of the second half of life. We work with people as they plan the next chapter by, for example, exploring various ways to lead an engaged and inspired life through vital roles that offer renewal.
Our educational presentations, workshops and programs are for organizations and individuals, especially successful professionals who want to contribute, ‘age well’ and ‘seize life’.
Check out Dr. Cook’s documentary film Redirection: Movers, Shakers and Shifters.
Carpe Vitam can assist you with your redirection if you are contemplating a transition.
For Organizations
An organization’s people are its greatest asset when talents are cultivated and leveraged. They are also its greatest liability if human capital resources are squandered or under-utilized.
Organizations are interested in the rapidly changing business environment and need to adapt talent management systems and foster the development of employees to better meet this dynamic context. Carpe Vitam’s key focus is the aging of the workforce and the human capital issues that impact business strategy, finances and operations.
Providing services and solutions to strengthen employee engagement and development through:
- keynote presentations
- program design and evaluation
- customized education and training workshops, and
- coaching
Carpe Vitam bridges organizational development needs with the professional development and training by aligning solutions with business strategy.
For Individuals
Using an approach grounded in human development, Carpe Vitam provides a workshop series as well as mentoring and coaching services to support people who want to take the next step towards their ‘new chapter’. There is assistance for individuals in need of transition support and for those confronting obstacles and barriers that must be faced in order to move forward with their ‘redirection’.
Carpe Vitam! Seize Life!
This phrase has remained with me as I engage with mature adults who are in transition and looking for the next challenge, in their workplace or the broader community – as they find renewal, undergo a personal ‘transformation’ and redefine themselves. They are inspiring.
One issue though, should I use a Latin name for my business?
When I told people I had incorporated Carpe Vitam, everyone I spoke with knew the English translation – whether they were retirees in their 70′s and 80′s, on the cusp retirees in their 60′s or in the midlife of the 40′s and 50′s.
I was thrilled! I took this as a sign that we all need to ‘seize life’ and think, act, be, so we can reach our full potential and become what we are meant to be.
Carpe Vitam, dear Readers!
